Giving & Refund Policy

Tax-Deductible Giving & 501(c)(3) Status

Empowerment Worship Center Inc. is an official 501(c)(3) religious non-profit organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service (Federal EIN: 85-1781556). Contributions to EWC are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by federal and state law under Internal Revenue Code Section 170.

Annual Official Tax Statements & Record-Keeping (IRC § 170(f)(8))

To ensure rigorous legal compliance and support our donors' personal tax filings:

• Annual Calendar-Year Update: Official 501(c)(3) Giving Statements update each calendar year (covering January 1 through December 31). Statements for the preceding tax year are generated and available in your member portal by January 31 of each year.
• Contemporary Written Acknowledgment: In accordance with IRC § 170(f)(8) and IRS Publication 1771, each statement certifies that no goods or services were provided in consideration for contributions, other than intangible religious benefits.
• Multi-Year Historical Access: Members can select and generate official tax statements for any tax year over the past 7 years directly from the member portal or giving card. Statements can be printed with official letterhead or downloaded as text files.
• 7-Year Record Retention: The IRS requires donors to maintain contemporary written acknowledgment to substantiate charitable deductions of $250 or more on IRS Form 1040 Schedule A. EWC maintains immutable transaction logs for at least 7 years in compliance with IRS audit retention guidelines.

Secure Processing

All online gifts are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Your full card number never touches our servers. You may optionally add a small amount to cover card processing costs so 100% of your intended gift reaches the ministry.

Recurring Pledges (Weekly & Monthly)

When you select a Weekly or Monthly schedule, you authorize recurring charges on that cadence using your saved payment method. The first gift is charged immediately; renewals follow automatically. You may pause, modify, or cancel a recurring pledge at any time — just contact the church office and we will take care of it promptly.

Refund Policy

Donations are generally considered final and non-refundable, as they are gifts to a non-profit ministry. However, we understand mistakes happen. If you made an error (wrong amount, duplicate charge, accidental gift), contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will gladly issue a full refund to your original payment method.

Designated Funds

You may direct your gift to a specific ministry fund (General Tithes & Offerings, Building & Sanctuary Fund, or Global & Local Missions). EWC honors designations to the fullest extent possible while retaining discretion to reallocate if a fund's purpose is fulfilled or closed.
