Privacy Policy & Data Transparency

Empowerment Worship Center Inc. (EWC) uses this website for worship, online giving, member accounts, chat, and prayer requests.

Information we use

• Account names, email addresses, and authentication information support member access.
• Giving records include donor details, amounts, dates, funds, payment references, refunds, and disputes. Card details are entered through Stripe; this website does not store full card numbers or security codes.
• Chat display names and messages are public. Do not post private, financial, or medical information in chat. Display names alone do not verify someone's identity.
• Prayer requests are available to the church's pastors and the prayer team the church's administrators choose. If you are signed in, you can let them reply to you; replies are emailed to you and shown in your account, and only you and that team can see them. Please include only information you want to share with the ministry team. This form is not an emergency service.
• Event RSVPs include the name, number of guests, and optional contact details you give. Only authorized church staff can see who is coming; counts shown on the site are totals.
• If you ask for the weekly newsletter, we keep your email address (and your name, if you gave it) to send it. Sign-ups on the website are confirmed by email before anything is sent. Every newsletter has a link to stop it, and members can switch it off in their account at any time. Newsletter sign-ups are removed when you delete your account.
• Sign-in links sent by email are single-use and expire; they do not create accounts, and we do not confirm whether an address has an account.

Service providers and media

The website uses Netlify for hosting, Supabase for accounts and data, Stripe for payments, and Resend to deliver the church's emails: account emails (confirming your address, sign-in links, password resets) and giving receipts. YouTube provides video playback, and services are streamed to YouTube and Facebook through Restream. Google Fonts, Cloudflare (cdnjs), and jsDelivr provide the site's fonts and scripts and may receive technical information such as your IP address when they load. Provider processing is also subject to their policies.

Worship broadcasts and replays are public media. Contact the church about recording concerns or removal requests. Avoid submitting information about children without appropriate permission.

Children's privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts and chat are for people 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact the church and we will delete it.

Browser storage

Browser storage supports sign-in, security checks, your display choices (light or dark mode, larger text), and remembering that you have seen our privacy notice. The notice acknowledgment does not disable third-party resources. Your browser provides controls for deleting or blocking stored data; blocking it may affect sign-in or giving. Stripe's payment script loads on every page so giving opens quickly, and Stripe and YouTube may use their own storage. The site also keeps a copy of public pages, sermon lists, and images on your device so it opens quickly and works offline.

Retention and deletion

Chat messages are scheduled for deletion after they are 24 hours old, with an hourly cleanup, rather than at the end of a broadcast. Backups and provider logs may have separate retention periods. Account deletion removes your login and profile and attempts to cancel recurring gifts before completing. It does not automatically erase financial records, provider records, backups, or separately submitted prayer requests.

Contact the church for access, corrections, or deletion requests, including prayer requests. Financial records may be retained for accounting, legal, and dispute-resolution needs. Applicable rights and exceptions depend on your location and the circumstances.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, authentication, and database access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use.
